Abstract: THESE DATA ARE USED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD (1) TO ANALYZE AND INTERPRET MOVEMENTS IN THE MONETARY AGGREGATES, (2) TO OBSERVE COMPETITIVE DEVELOPMENTS BETWEEN BANKS AND THRIFT INSTITUTIONS FOR VARIOUS CLASSES OF DEPOSITS.
