Abstract: THE HUD-274 IS USED BY HUD TO REQUEST RECIPIENTS OF LOAN OR GRANT FUNDS TO DESIGNATE A DEPOSITARY THAT THEY WISH TO RECEIVE FUNDS IN CONNECTION WITH HUD PROGRAMS. THIS IS AN INTERNAL CONTROL INSTITUTED TO SAFEGUARD FEDERAL FUNDS AS WELL AS PROVIDING A SERVICE TO RECIPIENT BY SENDING LOAN OR GRANT FUNDS DIRECTLY TO THE DEPOSITARY OF THEIR CHOICE VS. SENDING FUNDS TO THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS AND THEN THE RECIPIENT HAVING TO MAKE THE DEPOSIT.
