Abstract: THE NSF ACT OF 1950, AS AMENDED, REQUIRES THE FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE STATISTICAL INFORMATION CONCERNING FEDERAL FUNDING FOR R&D THAT SERVES AS A BASE UPON WHICH MORE DETAILED STUDIES CAN BE MADE OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACT OF FEDERAL R&D INVESTMENTS.
