Abstract: PUBLIC LAW 96-594 PROVIDES THE OWNERS OF SMALL COMMERCIAL VESSELS UNDE 79 FEET AND BARGES OF ANY SIZE ENGAGED SOLELY IN DOMESTIC SERVICE, THA MUST BE DOCUMENTED, AN OPTION TO SUBMIT SELF OBTAINED MEASUREMENTS OF THEIR VESSELS. 46 CFR 69.19 PROVIDES THE MEANS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS SERVICE AT GREATLY REDUCED COST TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
