Abstract: 49 CFR 229.9 PROMULGATED UNDER 45 U.S.C. 22-34 OF THE LOCOMOTIVE INSPECTION ACT TO REQUIRE RAILROADS TO INSPECT DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND NOTIFY CREWS OPERATING SUCH EQUIPMENT THAT IT IS SAFE TO MOVE IT TO A PLACE WHERE PROPER REPAIR COULD BE MADE.
