Abstract: INCREASING DEMANDS FOR STATISTICAL INFORMATION AND DECREASING BUDGETS REQUIRE THE EVALUATION OF POTENTIAL COST-SAVING SURVEY METHODS SUCH AS RANDOM DIGIT DIALING (RDD) TELEPHONE INTERVIEWING. THE CENSUS BUREAU WILL CONDUCT AN RDD STUDY FROM MARCH TO SEPTEMBER 1982 TO DEVELOP INFORMATION FOR DECISIONS ABOUT IMPLEMENTING RDD IN SOME OF THE BUREAU'S STATISTICAL ACTIVITIES.
