THE DAVIS BACON ACT, THE COPELAND ACT
AND THE CONTRACT WORK HOURS AND SAFETY STANDARDS ACT REQUIRE THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF MINIMUM WAGES, JOB CLASSIFICATION, OVERTIME PAY
RATES AND FRINGE BENEFITS FOR CONSTRUCTIO WORK PERFORMED BY PRIVATE
CONTRACTORS FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. IN ORDER TO ASCERTAIN THAT
THE DATA SUBMITTED BY THE CONTRACTOR IS CORREC THE EMPLOYEES MUST
BE CONTACTED ON A RANDOM BASIS TO COLLECT THE INFO REQUESTED BY THE
FORM. THIS INTERVIEW IS REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 5.6, ETC.
