Abstract: SECTION 507(B) OF P.L. 95-87 PROVIDES THAT PERSONS CONDUCTING SURFACE MINING ACTIVITIES TO SUBMIT TO THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION REGARDING OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL OF THE PROPERTY TO BE AFFECTED BY THE ACTIVITIES, THEIR COMPLIANCE STATUS AND HISTORY. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY TO INSURE ALL LEGAL, FINANCIAL AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS ARE SATISFIED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OR DENIAL OF A PERMIT.
