Abstract: NIAAA HAS A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR HEALTH STATISTICS TO DEVELOP AND FIELD MEASURES FOR AN ALCOHOL USE SUPPLEMENT TO THE 1983 NATIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION SURVEY (NHIS). THE PROPOSED STUDY TESTS THE RELIABILITY AND VALIDITY OF ALCOHOL USE MEASURES AND IDENTIFIES THE BEST SET TO BE USED.
