Abstract: TO COMPLY WITH SEC. 231(M) OF THE FOREIGN ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1961, AS AMENDED, OPIC MUST REFUSE TO INSURE OR FINANCE INVESTMENT SUBJECT TO PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS WHICH REDUCE U.S. TRADE BENEFITS. THIS ADDITIONAL QUESTION IN THE INSURANCE APPLICATION IS INTENDED TO IDENTIFY PROJECTS SUBJECT TO PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS SO THAT OPIC MAY THEN ADMINISTER A TRADE EFFECTS TEST.
