Abstract: THE EPA RELIES ON ANALYTICAL DATA FROM A VARIETY OF LABORATORIES FOR MANY REGULATORY DECISIONS. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE AGENCY HAVE AN OBJECTIVE DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRIBUTING LABORATORIES ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VALID DATA. THE LABORATORY PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PROGRA FULFILLS THE NEED FOR DRINKING WATER POINT SOURCE AND AMBIENT WATER QUALITY SAMPLES.
