Abstract: IN MAY 1981 PRESIDENT REAGAN ESTABLISHED THE 50 STATES PROJECT, A PROJECT TO ASSIST THE INDIV. STATES IN IDENTIFYING & CORRECTING STATE LAWS THAT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF SEX. IN ORDER TO BEST ADDRESS T INDIV. NEEDS OF EACH STATE, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO ESTAB. THE STATUS OF EA STATE IN THIS AREA. THE INFO. COLLECTED WILL BE SHARED WITH THE GOVERNOR'S OFC.
