THIS PART ESTABLISHES THE MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS FOR DESIGNATING AREAS AS UNSUITABLE FOR ALL OR CERTAIN
TYPES OF SURFACE COAL MINING OPERATIONS. THE PART CONTAINS TWO
INFORMATION COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS (1) THE STATE REGULATORY
AUTHORITY MUST DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A DATA BASE AND INVENTORY
SYSTEM, AND (2) THE STATE RA MUST KEEP A MAP OF ARE DESIGNATED AS
UNSUITABLE.
