Abstract: THE FORM 6157 IS USED BY ALL IRS OFFICES TO VOUCHER PAST EMPLOYERS OF PROSPCTIVE IRS EMPLOYEES. DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE IRS FUNCTION, A HIGH LEVEL OF INTEGRITY IS DEMANDED OF IRS EMPLOYEES. FOR 6157 ARE SENT OUT WITH SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPES TO THREE MOST RECENT EMPLOYERS REGARDING APPLICANTS FOR POSITIONS IN IRS TO DETERMIN WHETHER THEY SHOULD BE HIRED.
