Abstract: FEDERAL AVIATION ACT OF 1958, SECTION 311 (49 USC 1352) AUTHORIZES THE COLLECTION OF INFORMATION RELATIVE TO CIVIL AERONAUTICS. BIRD STRIKE DATA COLLECTED TO DEVELOP STANDARDS AND MONITOR HAZARDS TO AVIATION. DATA IDENTIFY BIRD STRIKE CONTROL REQUIREMENTS AND PROVIDE IN-SERVICE DATA ON AIRCRAFT COMPONENT FAILURE.
