THE NATIONAL HOSPITAL DISCHARGE SURVEY
PROVIDES DETAILED INFORMATION O CHARACTERISTICS, DIAGNOSES, AND
SURGICAL AND OTHER PROCEDURES FOR PATIENTS DISCHARGED FROM
SHORT-STAY NON-FEDERAL HOSPITALS IN THE UNITE STATES. THE
INFORMATION COLLECTED IS AVAILABLE IN WRITTEN REPORTS, IN
UNPUBLISHED FORM THROUGH STANDARDIZED INHOUSE TABULATIONS OR
SPECIAL TABULATIONS, AND ON PUBLIC USE TAPES.
