THE OSH ACT REQUIRES EMPLOYERS TO
PREPARE AND MAINTAIN RECORDS OF OCCUPATIONAL INJURIES AND
ILLNESSES. THESE RECORDS ARE NECESSARY FOR CARRYING OUT THE
PURPOSES OF THE ACT. THEY ASSIST OSHA IN MAKING INSPECTIONS AND
INVESTIGATIONS, PROVIDE THE BASIS FOR A STATISTICAL PROGRAM, AND
RAISE AWARENESS OF EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYERS TO WORKPLACE
HAZARDS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
