Abstract: NATURAL GAS PIPELINE SAFETY ACT (49 USC 1671 ET SEQ.) REQUIRES DOT TO COLLECT INFO. ON PIPELINE FAILURES OCCURRING EACH YEAR. THE REPORT FORM INCLUDES INFORMATION ON THE NATURE OF THE FAILURE, PERSONAL INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THE FAILURE, LOCATION AND CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE INFORMATION IS USED TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENES OF EXSITING REGULATIONS AND PLAN MODIFICATIONS WHERE APPROPRIATE.
