Abstract: FED. REG. (49 CFR PARA. 191.17) REQUIRES TRANSMISSION AND GATHERING SYSTEM OPERATORS TO REPORT ANNUALLY TO DOT CONCERNING THE SIZE AND NATURE OF THE SYSTEM, TOTAL NUMBER OF LEAKS REPAIRED, TOTAL PERSONAL INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE DURING YEAR, AND CAUSE OF FAILURES. THIS INFORMATION IS USED TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF EXISTING REGS. AND PLAN MODIFICATIONS WHERE APPROPRIATE.
