Abstract: TO MINIMIZE HAZARDS TO HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT, RCRA REQUIRES ALL HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITIES TO DESIGN A CONTINGENCY PLAN TO BE IMPLEMENTED WHENEVER A FIRE, EXPLOSION OR RELEASE OF HAZARDOUS WASTE OCCURS. THE FACILITY KEEPS A COPY OF THE PLAN AND SENDS ONE TO ALL PERTINENT EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS. THE FACILITIES SUBMIT THE PLAN TO EPA WITH RCRA PART B PERMIT APPLICATIONS. (0808)
