THE MOTOR CARRIER ACT OF 1980 (P.L.
96-296 HENCEFORTH MCA) REQUIRES CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS ON ITS
EFFECTS ON THE MOTOR CARRIER INDUSTRY. AS AN AREA OF PARTICULAR
CONCERN IS THE IMPACT ON CLASS III CARRIERS, THOSE CARRIERS WITH
LESS THAN $1 MILLION IN ANNUAL REVENUE. NO CURRENT REPORTS OR
SURVEYS COLLECT DATA ON THESE CARRIERS.

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
