Abstract: 24 CFR 883.713 REQUIRES PERIODIC HUD REVIEW OF STATE AGENCIES' ADMINISTRATION OF SECTION 8 HAP CONTRACTS. THE NEED FOR SECTION 236 REVIEWS WAS INDICATED BY TWO OIG STATE AGENCY AUDITS. A MAJOR FINDING WAS THE NONEXISTENCE OF WRITTEN STANDARDS BY WHICH TO REVIEW STATE AGENCIES' PERFORMANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF HUD PROGRAMS.
