Abstract: PROVIDES NATIONAL AND STATE INDICATIONS OF ACRES PLANTED TO MAJOR CROPS. AREA FRAME USED TO MEASURE INCOMPLETENESS OF VARIOUS COMMODITY LISTS (40-R0302, 40-R0306, 40-R2764, 40-R3723, 40-R3774). PROVIDES A SAMPLING BASE FOR OBJECTIVE YIELD SURVEY (40-R2764). ALSO USED TO ESTABLISH TRAINING FIELDS FOR COMPUTER CLASSIFICATION OF LANDSAT SATELLITE DATA. ESTIMATES USED THROUGHOUT GOVERNMENT AND AGRICULTURAL IN PRODUCTION AND MARKETING DECISIONS.
