Abstract: IF AN UNDERGROUND MINE IS SMALL AND REMOTE OR IS OPERATING UNDER SPECI MINING CONDITIONS, THE OPERATOR MAY APPLY FOR PERMISSION TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE MINE RESCUE CAPABILITY. THE INTENT OF THE REGULATION IS TO ESTABLISH THE BEST POSSIBLE RESCUE RESPONSE AVAILABLE UNER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
