(1) Although
items number 5 and number 6 on the form are worded differently,
they ask the same question. This clearance is granted with the
condition that EPA eliminate question number 5 which appears
throughout the form for the various types of environmental
regulations. (2) EPA should amend the advance letter to state that
the survey is voluntary and that EPA will give the data
confidential treatment.

PERCEPTUAL INFORMATION ON COMPLIANCE
ISSUES AND IMPACTS OF ENVIRONMENT REGULATIONS ON SMALL BUSINESSES
IS COLLECTED FROM ABOUT 30 TRADE ASSOCIATIONS AND ABOUT 200 SMALL
BUSINESS OPERATORS. THIS INFORMATION WILL BE USED TO FACILITATE
EPA'S EFFORTS TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS OF SMALL BUSINESSES AND TO
ASSIST SMALL BUSINESSES IN COMPLYING WITH ENVIRONMENTAL
REGULATIONS.
