In its request
for a one-year extension of this form, submitted on December 30,
1982, the FTC stated that in addition to the rule changes now
approved by the Commission "another important burden reduction
project is well underway." It expected to circulate a preliminary
draft of a proposal to reduce burden further by February and missed
its deadlines on this form. This form will not be approved again
unless the supporting statement includes a description of the
progress made in reducing burden further, including progress on a
simplified form for smaller acquisitions and on reducing the number
of overall filings.
