Abstract: FORM 4188B IS USED WITH COMPUTER PARAGRAPH FILL-IN TO ADVISE INDIVIDUALS THAT AN ADJUSTMENT HAS BEEN MADE TO THEIR TAX ACCOUNT AND THE RESULTING BALANCE DUE OR REFUND. IF A PENALTY HAS BEEN PROPOSED, THE FORM ADVISES THE TAXPAYER THAT IT MAY BE ABATED IF A STATEMENT IS PROVIDED THAT ESTABLISHES REASONABLE CAUSE.
