Abstract: THIS ANNUAL DATA COLLECTION IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE TIMELY AND ACCURATE DATA ON FEDERAL CIVILIAN SALARIES AND WAGES TO OPM'S COMPENSATION GROUP FOR UTILIZATION IN CALCULATION OF THE FEDERAL PAY LINE AND MANAGEMENT OF OTHER REGULAR AND SPECIAL PAY PROGRAMS. IT ALSO PROVIDE THE DATA BASE FOR CONGRESSIONAL AND PUBLIC INTEREST GROUP ANALYSES OF FEDERAL PAY.
