Abstract: SICKLE CELL DISEASE, LIKE OTHER CHRONIC ILLNESSES, HAS ANEGATIVE IMPAC ON THE PSYCHOSOCIAL WELL-BEING OF INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES, BUT SPECIFIC DOCUMENTATION IS LACKING AND THEREFORE APPROACHES TO INTERVENTION ARE NON-EXISTANT. THESE DATA WILL BE OBTAINED ON A LARGE GROUP OF PATIENTS AS PART OF THE COOPERATIVE STUDY OF SICKLE CELL DISEASE.
