Abstract: THESE REGULATIONS SET FORTH PROCEDURES UNDER WHICH PERSONS ENGAGED IN RESEARCH ON MENTAL HEALTH ALCOHOL, AND OTHER PSYCHOACTIVE DRUGS, MAY APPLY FOR AN AUTHORIZATION UNDER 42 U.S.C. 242A(A) FOR THE PRIVILEGE TO PROTECT THE PRIVACY OF RESEARCH SUBJECTS BY NOT HAVING TO RESPOND TO ANY COMPULSORY LEGAL PROCESS TO COMPEL SUCH DISCLOSURE.
