Terms of Clearance: Approval is for one year only because this and other information collection requirements of the NPDES regulations need to be consolidated and reviewed jointly upon publication of the NPRM revising the NPDES regulations which is planned for mid-1984. A single OMB control number will be issued at that time instead of the multiplicity of control numbers which exist today.

Abstract: A PERMITTEE MUST NOTIFY THE PERMIT AUTHORITY OF ANY NONCOMPLIANCE THAT MAY ENDANGER HEALTH OR THE ENVIRONMENT AND OF ANY PLANNED FACILITY CHANGES THAT MAY RESULT IN NONCOMPLIANCE. THE PERMIT AUTHORITY USES THE INFORMATION TO DECIDE UPON PERMIT MODIFICATIONS, TO ORDER MITIGATION OF PROBLEMS AND/OR TO TAKE ENFORCEMENT ACTION.
