Terms of Clearance: Questionnaire is approved on the following conditions. The Commission shall modify the annual survey to collect the following information, which was agreed upon at the Trade Policy Committee meeting by the ITC held 11/16 at USTR. 1) Capital expenditures- a. actual and projected capital expenditures for each of the years 1983-87. b. explanation of equipment expenditures. c. how actual expenditures deviate from those projected. d. a comparison of capital expenditures to cash flow for each of the years 78-87. 2) Research and development expenses--a. same as (a) above. b. principal purposes of expenditures. c. same as 1c above. d. comparison of R&D expenditures to sales for year 78-87.

DATA WILL BE PUBLISHED IN A REPORT AND MADE AVAILABLE TO THE UNITED STATES TRADE REPRESENTATIVE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 332(B) OF THE TARIFF ACT OF 1930. QUESTIONNAIRES WILL BE SENT TO PRODUCERS.
