Abstract: SECTION 3405 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE REQUIRES PAYERS OF PENSION OR ANNUITY PAYMENTS TO WITHHOLD INCOME TAX FROM THE PAYMENTS. A PAYEE CAN ELECT TO HAVE NO TAX WITHHELD. THE INFORMATION ON THIS FORM ALLOW PAYERS TO CORRECTLY FIGURE THE AMOUNT OF TAX TO WITHHOLD.
