Abstract: UNIVERSITY RESEARCH IS A SOURCE OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT BUT THE FACTORS THAT ENCOURAGE INDUSTRY/UNIVERSITY LINKAGE ARE UNKNOWN DATA WILL BE ACQUIRED FROM UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSONS IN THREE REPRESENTATIVE DISCIPLINES AT 100 R&D UNIVERSITIES.
