THESE
INFORMATION COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS HAV BEEN APPROVED THROUGH MARCH
31, 1984 TO ALLOW THE DEPARTMENT SUFFICIENT TIME TO RESPOND TO OMB
CONCERNS. IF THE OMB CONCERNS ARE NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY MARCH
31, 1984, THEN THE DEPARTMENT WILL INITIATE A RULEMAKING IN
ACCORDANCE WITH 5 CFR 1320.14 (F) AND (G) TO AMEND OR RESCIND THIS
COLLECTION OF INFORMATION WHICH APPEARS TO IMPOSE UNNECESSARY AND
UNDULY BURDENSOME REPORTING REQUIREMENTS NOT NEEDED FOR THE PROPER
PERFORMANCE OF THE AGENCY'S FUNCTION. THE RULEMAKING WOULD PRPOSE
CONVERSION OF THE DETAILED REPORTING REQUIREMENT TO A SIMPLE
CERTIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE STATUTORY REQUIREMENT AND
WOULD PROVIDE FOR SPECIAL REPORTS BY THOSE THAT CANNOT SO
CERTIFY.
