Abstract: SUBJECT SURVEY IS THE ONLY FEDERAL PROGRAM WHICH MEASURES THE FLOW OF COMMODITIES FROM ORIGIN TO DESTINATION AND BY MODE OF TRANSPORT. DATA ARE USED BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AT ALL LEVELS IN THE CONDUCT OF THEIR REGULATORY, PROMOTIONAL AND POLICY-MAKING ACTIVITIES. DATA ARE ALSO USED BY PRIVATE ORGANIZATION FOR DISTRIBUTION PLANNING AND MARKET RESEARCH.
