Executive Order
11459 (3/7/69) directs the Coast Guard to issue regul ations and
requirements to approve and certify containers for inter national
transport under customs seal. In October 1983, a new execu tive
order was issued (12445) which transfers authority to Department
Treasury. This collection request is approved for use through March
1, 1985 to allow time for Treasury to promulgate regulations and
Information Collection requirements to accept the function.

FACILITATE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BY REDUCING INTERMEDIATE BORDER
CUSTOMS INSPECTIONS. INTERMODEL CONTAINER
