SECTION 1312.22, CFR 21, REQUIRES INDIVIDUALS WHO EXPORT CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES LISTED IN SCHEDULES I AND II TO OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINSTRATION FOR ISSUING EXPORT PERMITS AND EXERCISING CONTROL OVER THE EXPORTATION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AND TO COMPILE DATA FOR SUBMISSION TO THE UNITED NATIONS TO HONOR TREATY REQUIREMENTS.
