Abstract: BUYERS OF HOUSES MAY ASSUME A MORTGAGE INSURED BY HUD. IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE SELLER FROM LIABILITY ON THE NOTE, HUD MUST REVIEW THE CREDIT AND FINANCIAL HISTORY OF THE ASSUMPTOR. HUD THEN AGREES TO THE SUBSTITUTION OF DEBTOR IF THE MORTGAGEE WANTS TO PROCEED.
