Abstract: SINCE 1972 THE ENDOWMENT HAS SUPPORTED VISUAL ARTISTS ORGANIZATIONS. TO DATE NO SYSTEMATIC DATA BASE EXISTS WITHIN OR OUTSIDE THE AGENCY. THE USES FOR THE DATA COLLECTED WILL BE FOR DECISION MAKING WITHIN THE AGENCY, FOR RESPONSES AT BUDGET HEARINGS, AND FOR IMPROVEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING OF ORGANIZATIONS ON THE STATE OF THEIR FIELD.
