Abstract: THE FEDERAL FOOD, DRUG AND COSMETIC ACT AUTHORIZES EPA TO ESTABLISH TOLERANCES OR EXEMPTIONS FROM TOLERANCES FOR RESIDUES OF PESTICIDES AND INERT INGREDIENTS IN OR ON FOOD. TO ESTABLISH A TOLERANCE, EPA REQUIRES MANUFACTURERS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO SUPPORT THE TOLERANCE OR EXEMPTION.
