FORM EIA-51 COLLECTS DATA ON COSTS AND
QUANTITIES OF FOREIGN CRUDE OIL ACQUIRED FOR IMPORTATION INTO THE
U.S. AND ITS TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS. DATA ARE USED TO
CALCULATE PRICE INDICES BY BLS, IN ANALYSIS OF CONSUMPTION,
PRODUCTION AND PRICES OF FUELS WORLDWIDE, IN MODELING AND
FORECASTING AND FOR MATCHING CRUDE OIL SHIPMENTS. RESPONDENTS ARE
COMPANIES THAT IMPORT MORE THAN 500,000 BBLS. OF FOREI CRUDE
OIL.

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
