Abstract: SECTION 36.216 OF P.L. 93-638 SPECIFIES THAT TRIBAL ORGANIZATIONS MAY REQUEST A CONTRACT LAW TO BE WAIVED WHEN IT BELIEVES THAT THE LAW IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE PRUPOSES OF THE CONTRACT INVOLVED OR IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE ACT (P.L. 93-638). THE REQUEST MUST INCLUDE THE NEED, CIRCUMSTANCES, INTENDED EFFECT, LENGTH OF TIME, AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION RELATING TO THE REQUEST.
