Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT IS TO TEST THE WIDELY HELD VIEW THAT SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES EXIST BETWEEN SOCIAL SERVICES WHICH ARE PROVIDED BY THE PUBLIC SECTOR AND PRIVATE SECTOR. LITTLE EVIDENCE OR EMPIRICAL RESEARCH CURRENTLY EXISTS TO EVALUATE THIS CLAIM AND THE PROJECT IS DESIGNED AS AN INITIAL ATTEMPT TO DEVELOP EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT OR REFUTE THE OVERALL HYPOTHESIS.
