Abstract: THESE REGULATIONS REQUIRE EMPLOYERS TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF EXPOSURE MONITORING AND MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE FOR EMPLOYEES EXPOSED TO ETHYLENE OXIDE. THESE RECORDS ARE USED BY EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYEES, PHYSICIANS AND THE GOVERNMENT TO ASSURE THAT THE EMPLOYEE'S WORKPLACE EXPOSURE TO ETHYLENE OXIDE DOES NOT ADVERSELY AFFECT THE HEALTH OF THE EMPLOYEE.
