Abstract: THE INFO. COLLECTED USING CG-4917 AND CG-4918 IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE WHETHER RECREATIONAL BOAT AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS ARE COMPLYING WITH 33 CFR 179. THE INFO. IS USED TO EVALUATE THE DEGREE OF DANGER TO THE PUBLIC, MANUFACTURER'S SUCCESS IN FINDING AFFECTED OWNERS AND HIS SPEED IN MAKING REPAIRS TO DEFECTIVE OR NONCOMPLYING PRODUCTS.
