Abstract: EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF THE RECENTLY ENACTED MANDATORY OCCUPANT RESTRAINT LAW IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK. THESE SURVEYS WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE PUBLIC'S KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOR REGARDING RESTRAINT USE IN LIGHT OF THE MANDATORY OCCUPANT RESTRAINT LAW. THERE WILL BE THREE SURVEYS CONDUCTED, ONE BEFORE THE LAW GOES INTO EFFECT (OCTOBER 1984) AND TWO AFTER ITS IMPLEMENTATION (MARCH 1985 AND SEPTEMBER 1985).
