Abstract: 12 CFR 563.1 AND SECTION 403(B) OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT REQUIRE FHLBB TO ACT ON APPLICATIONS BY STATE-CHARTERED INSTITUTIONS FOR DEPOS INSURANCE BY THE FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN INSURANCE CORPORATION. THE APPLICATION FOR INSURANCE OF ACCOUNTS IS USED TO EVALUATE THE MANAGEME AND FINANCIAL CONDITION OF APPLICANTS TO ASSURE THAT THE GRANTING OF DEPOSIT INSURANCE WILL NOT POSE AN UNDUE RISK TO THE INSURANCE CORPORATION.
