Abstract: SINCE 1972 THE ENDOWMENT HAS SUPPORTED VISUAL ARTISTS ORGANIZATIONS. TO DATE NO COMPREHENSIVE DATA BASE EXISTS ON THIS THIS FIELD. THE USES FOR THE DATA COLLECTED WILL INCLUDE AGENCY PROGRAM PLANNING AND EVALUATION, RESPONDING TO QUESTIONS ABOUT ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AT BUDGET HEARINGS, AND AN IMPROVED UNDERSTANDING OF ORGANIZATIONS ON THE STATE OF THEIR FIELD.
