Abstract: NIH HAS BEEN DIRECTED TO ASSESS AND REPORT ON THE STATUS, CONDITION AND USE OF EXISTING R&D FACILITIES IN THE RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES AND DISCIPLINARY AND INSTITUTIONAL PERCEPTIONS OF PRIORITIES FOR FUTUR NEEDS IN FACILITIES. FEDERAL R&D SUPPORTING AGENCIES WILL UTILIZE THE INFORMATION TO IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY TO PLAN AND ADMINISTER THE SUPPORT OF ACADEMIC R&D.
